Develop the vocational competencies and knowledge required in the hotel and restaurant sectors of the hospitality industry. Transmit and develop the skills, knowledge and know-how that will enable graduates to carry out a professional activity safely and competently.

Culinary Art

Successful graduates possess the competencies and knowledge to be fully operational in different kitchens, following the standards of first-class culinary operations. Diploma holders have a deep understanding of how a professional kitchen is run and the industry tools that are used, and are well-equipped to enter the industry and reach a supervisory position in a short period of time.

 

What You Will Learn

 

Graduates of the Culinary Professional Diploma will be proficient in the following activities and will be distinguished by the following behaviors:

  • They prepare hot and cold food dishes following different recipes and different methods of cooking.

  • They demonstrate the ability to work in kitchen operations autonomously and in team, even under stressful circumstances.

  • They consider and operate according to clients’ wishes, demonstrating team spirit and following an economic and ecological mindset.

  • They are proficient with the principles of occupational health and safety, health protection and environmental protection.

 

A Certificate can be completed starting from 6 months, while the Professional Diploma can be achieved starting from 12 to 18 months on completion of the three certificate levels.

The Diploma can be achieved in a reduced timeframe if the student passes a Recognition of Experiential Learning Exam and has prior work experience: 2 years of work experience for direct entry at Intermediate level and 3 years of work experience for direct entry at Advanced level.

The course content is disseminated to the Licensee’s campus exclusively via VET by EHL’s Learning Management System (LMS). The learning material is created by EHL faculty and complemented by instructor. EHL Group is responsible for training the trainers through the "Train the Trainer" program, focused on the practical skills and mindset required to become an EHL recognized facilitator.

Internships and on-the-job training are leveraged to fortify knowledge, skills & mindset.

Work based learning:

3 months of courses in the in the Apricot Hotel in Gyumri, complemented by self-study, theoretical and practical instruction

3 months of internship

Target 

For 18+ years with no previous experience in hospitality

Graduate profile

​Continue in Intermediate module or take up basic line staff positions.

Certificate

Foundation – In this first certificate, students will acquire the basic skills required to be operational in a professional kitchen. The knowledge acquired will be reinforced by guided practical workshops and on-the-job application.
